	How safe is my data?
	Bunker Backup uses the highest level of electronic protection for your data. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) secures your data while it is being transferred to and from your computer. SSL is what is used as standard by any secure website which deals with confidential information. Technically, it uses 1024 bit RSA key exchange, 128 bit RC5 stream cypher and SHA-1 integrity checking. On top of that we use 448-bit Blowfish encryption which is more secure than most banks use online. This encrypts your selected data on your computer and in the Data Centre making it totally impenetrable at either end. You set the encryption key for your data which no one has access to but you. In addition, a username and password guard access to your account on our server. As well as the electronic protection we provide, our Data Centre is equipped with state of the art technology to protect your data. It is kept in IBM disaster recovery buildings which have 24 hour security on site, CCTV monitoring and restricted access to the building controlled by swipe cards. Multiple mains power feeds with UPS and mains power generator backup ensure that your work will not be lost through power failure, while hi-tech fire suppression systems protect against other natural disasters

	What is my encryption key?
	Your encryption key is a unique string of characters which you choose when you create your account. This key is what personalises the scrambling of your data, the algorithm of the encryption, so that only you have access to it. Bunker Backup uses this encryption to secure your data while it is on your computer and in the memory bank so that it is completely safe at either end. Technically, the software uses 448-bit Blowfish encryption in CBC mode.

	How much data can I backup?
	Your trial account allows up to 250MB of data to be protected, absolutely free, for two weeks. When you sign up to your account you can choose the amount you wish to backup. Click here to see a list of the account sizes available for our desktop and laptop product.

	How do I decide what size of account I need?
	If you have been using the trial software you will already have selected the files you wish to backup. To find out the size of these files simply open up the backup software and click the "Size" icon. The size of the files saved on your trial account should provide you with a guideline for the amount of space you will need, though you might want to allow a little extra room for expansion of your data over time. If you think there are more files you would like to include in your account simply add these to the selection and click "Size" again (this will not back them up unless you leave them included in your automatic backup selection). If you have not been using our trial software then you first need to decide what you would like to include in your account. To find out the size of any particular folders you would like to include simply open "My Documents," find the folder you want, right click on it, go to "Properties" and under the "General" tab should be the size of the folder. If you only want to include particular files within a folder simply open the folder and it should list the files and their sizes. Looking at what you would like to include should help you estimate the size of account you need, but we would recommend adding at least a few extra MB of space to allow for more files and modifications.

	What do I do if the amount of data I want to backup is more than the amount I want to transfer in one go?
	If your initial backup size is greater than you would like to transfer in one go you have two options: You can choose a smaller selection of files to begin with and add new ones as you go along. As only the new files and the changes to the original files will be sent this will limit the amount of bandwidth used at one time. Or You can limit the amount of data sent at any one time. To do this open Bunker Backup, go to "Tools" on the toolbar, then "Options". Go to the "Performance and Limits" tab and at the bottom is a section labelled "Limits" which allows you to limit both the transfer speed and the size of each backup. However, once modified it may take several backups before all your files are transferred.

	What happens if I exceed my account limit?
	As you backup the software will alert you to this. If you wish you can upgrade your account to backup a larger amount of data.

	How far back can I retrieve files?
	As long as you include a file in your backup set you will always be able to retrieve that file. If you remove a file from your backup set, or delete it from your computer, you will still have access to it for up to 3 months. In addition, you also have access to the modified versions of the file separately for 2 months. At the first backup of a new month the different backed up versions of a file from two months ago are consolidated and the final version from that month is saved and retained for a further month. This means you will also have access to the different versions of files from up to 3 months ago even if they have been subsequently deleted from your computer.
